Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety specialist in Abu Dhabi to lead complex ES&H programs in accordance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. You will develop, implement, and maintain safety systems, train staff, and ensure regulatory compliance across projects.

Under minimal supervision, you will mentor teams, analyze hazards, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement in risk management and emergency preparedness while communicating with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in OH&S or related field.
• CSP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in safety, health and environmental management.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Experience implementing and managing safety management systems.
• Strong skills in risk assessment, incident investigation and emergency response planning.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all levels.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains ES&H programs, systems and procedures.
• Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases in the workplace.
• Investigates accidents, injuries and hazards and recommends corrective actions.
• Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
• Prepares reports and implements corrective actions.
• Acts as lead for a team of ES&H specialists and support personnel.
