Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Senior HSE Design Engineer to ensure HSE requirements are integrated into engineering designs. The role focuses on identifying and mitigating safety, environmental, and operational risks during the design phase for high-profile projects.

You will lead HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA studies, apply SiD and ISD principles, and review safety deliverables across FEED to start-up. Collaborative across multi-discipline teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required.
• Typically 15+ years of experience in HSE design, technical safety or risk management within oil & gas or energy projects.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM/PMC environments across FEED to start-up phases.
• Strong knowledge of process safety management and loss prevention principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of HSE requirements into engineering design throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, Bow-Tie and Fire Risk Assessment studies.
• Identify design hazards and ensure risk mitigation is incorporated into designs.
• Promote Safety-in-Design and Inherently Safer Design principles.
• Review safety deliverables, including safety philosophies and risk assessment reports.
• Review plant layouts and equipment siting for safety compliance.
• Evaluate fire protection systems and safety-critical elements.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical and other teams to resolve safety issues.
