Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Senior Site HSE Engineer to lead Health, Safety and Environment activities at a project site, ensuring safe execution of construction, commissioning and operations while complying with policies, regulatory requirements and best practices.

The role covers development and implementation of HSE plans, incident investigations, audits, and drive for continuous improvement with a focus on zero harm and KPI tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or related field.
• Typically 15+ years of HSE experience with significant site-based exposure to oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, refinery, power, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Proven experience in managing HSE activities during construction, commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and maintenance projects.
• Strong knowledge of HSE Management Systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident prevention strategies.
• Extensive experience in PTW, JSA, HAZID, Risk Assessment, and Contractor HSE Management.
• Thorough understanding of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and local regulatory requirements.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all site HSE activities during construction, commissioning, start-up, and project execution.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, client requirements, local regulations, permits, and international standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific HSE plans, procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions.
• Review and approve JSA, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and PTW documentation.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
• Lead incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and training.
• Promote proactive safety culture and workforce participation in HSE initiatives.
• Coordinate with management, construction teams, client representatives, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
