Job summary

Allocation Assist Middle East in Dubai seeks a female Consultant Gastroenterologist with advanced ERCP expertise to deliver independent, high-level care for complex biliary and pancreatic disorders.

The role focuses on performing ERCP, biliary and pancreatic interventions, and collaborating with surgical, radiology, oncology, pathology, and multidisciplinary teams to determine treatment pathways.

Qualifications

• MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent medical degree.
• Postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine with Gastroenterology specialization.
• Recognized Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification.
• Advanced fellowship or formal training in ERCP, Therapeutic Endoscopy, or Interventional Gastroenterology is highly desirable.
• Valid UAE professional license or eligibility for licensing in Abu Dhabi, as specified in the source vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for gastrointestinal disorders.
• Manage patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP independently within clinical privileges.
• Undertake biliary and pancreatic sphincterotomy where clinically indicated.
• Perform biliary stent placement and removal.
• Perform pancreatic stent placement and removal.
• Manage bile duct stones using appropriate endoscopic extraction techniques.
• Treat biliary obstruction through advanced endoscopic intervention.
• Provide endoscopic management of benign biliary strictures.
• Participate in the management of malignant biliary strictures.
• Perform endoscopic treatment of pancreatic duct disorders.
• Conduct advanced upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.
• Gastroscopy and OGD procedures.
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy.
• Perform endoscopic biopsy and polypectomy.
• Undertake endoscopic hemostasis procedures.
• PEG placement where trained and credentialed.
• Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Provide specialist care for inflammatory bowel disease.
• Assess and manage liver and biliary disorders.
• Manage pancreatic disease and other complex gastrointestinal conditions.
• Evaluate patients for advanced endoscopic intervention.
• Determine appropriate procedural and non-procedural treatment pathways.
• Participate in multidisciplinary management of complex gastrointestinal cases.
• Collaborate with surgeons and interventional radiologists.
• Work with oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists.
• Provide pre-procedure counseling and informed consent.
• Follow sedation and endoscopy safety protocols.
• Maintain infection-prevention standards.
• Recognize and manage post-procedure complications.
• Provide clinical follow-up after endoscopic intervention.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to research and continuing medical education.
• Support teaching and mentoring of residents, fellows, and junior medical staff.
