Job summary

STAR SERVICES LLC in Abu Dhabi seeks a Field Operator (Steel Industry) to monitor field equipment per control room instructions, perform equipment line-up, field inspections, and support startup, shutdown, and emergency handling.

Requirements include a Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Science and at least 5 years in large Gas-Based DRI, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer plants; fluent English; knowledge of P&IDs, pumps, compressors, turbines, and safety systems.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Science.
Minimum 5 years of experience in large Gas-Based DRI, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer plants.
Experience in HYL DRI plant operations preferred.
Knowledge of P&IDs, pumps, compressors, turbines, and plant safety systems.
Fluent in English with good analytical and communication skills.
Computer literacy with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor field equipment in coordination with the control room.
Set equipment and valve positions as required for process operations.
Ensure safe isolation and handover of equipment for maintenance activities.
Monitor plant parameters, identify abnormalities, and report deviations to Senior Field Operator/Shift Supervisor.
Maintain field log sheets and operational records.
Support plant startup, shutdown, and emergency handling procedures.
Maintain housekeeping and follow all plant safety and MSDS procedures.
Contribute towards achieving zero LTI and safe plant operations.
Act as Senior Field Operator whenever assigned.
