Job summary

Star Services in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Field Operator with strong DRI/Petrochemical background to monitor and operate field equipment under control room guidance. The role requires safe handover, strict housekeeping, and active participation in startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in gas-based plants, knowledge of P&IDs and plant safety systems, and fluent English. The position is on site in Abu Dhabi with MS Office literacy expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Science.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in large Gas-Based DRI, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer plants.
• Experience in HYL DRI plant operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, pumps, compressors, turbines, and plant safety systems.
• Good analytical and communication skills.
• Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office tools.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out field operations and monitor plant equipment per control room instructions.
• Perform equipment line-up and field inspections; safe handover of equipment for maintenance.
• Maintain housekeeping and operational records.
• Support plant startup, shutdown, and emergency handling.
• Monitor plant parameters and report deviations to Senior Field Operator/Shift Supervisor.
• Act as Senior Field Operator when assigned.
• Contribute to achieving zero LTI and safe plant operations.

Job Summary

Responsible for carrying out field operations and monitoring plant equipment as per control room instructions to ensure safe and smooth plant operations. The role includes equipment line-up, field inspections, safe handover of equipment for maintenance, maintaining housekeeping standards, and supporting plant startup, shutdown, and emergency handling activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor field equipment in coordination with the control room.
• Set equipment and valve positions as required for process operations.
• Ensure safe isolation and handover of equipment for maintenance activities.
• Monitor plant parameters, identify abnormalities, and report deviations to Senior Field Operator/Shift Supervisor.
• Maintain field log sheets and operational records.
• Support plant startup, shutdown, and emergency handling procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow all plant safety and MSDS procedures.
• Contribute towards achieving zero LTI and safe plant operations.
• Act as Senior Field Operator whenever assigned.
