Job summary

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is seeking a Senior Leader for Major Hazard Governance to establish and maintain an enterprise-wide risk management framework for major hazards, including molten metal handling, high-voltage systems, gas systems, and pressure systems.

You will lead SIF/HiPo frameworks, monitor barrier health, oversee independent verification programs, and provide board-level visibility of risk exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and minimum 15 years of experience in high-hazard industrial operations.
• Expertise in HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie Risk Analysis, CCM, Major Accident Prevention, regulatory engagement, and board committee reporting.
• Experience with digital technologies, data analytics, and Process Safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an enterprise-wide Major Hazard Risk Management Framework.
• Define, implement, and oversee Critical Controls for major hazard exposures including molten metal handling and transfer operations, pipeline integrity and high-voltage electrical systems, gas systems, pressure systems and stored energy hazards, and confined space entry.
• Ensure governance and control frameworks align with ICMM, CCPS, OSHA, PSM principles, and SIF prevention.
• Lead SIF and HiPo Event Frameworks with clear definitions, escalation thresholds, and governance reviews with the Executive Committee.
• Monitor barrier health and Critical Control effectiveness, identify degradation and overdue verifications, and tighten risk controls.
• Provide independent verification for Life-Saving Rules and Critical Controls with field validation and evidence-based assurance.
• Deliver board-level visibility of major hazard exposure and Critical Control performance via dashboards.
• Authorize stop or suspension of high-risk operations and enforce MOC outcomes and verification standards.
• Drive leadership accountability and continuous improvement in process safety culture and governance.
• Provide quarterly board reporting on Tier 1/2 Process Safety Events, Barrier Health Index, and risk exposure heat map.
