Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a Design Lead (Secondary) to define, review and execute secondary engineering activities for Substation and Power Distribution projects. The candidate must have advanced knowledge in protection & automation systems and be capable of leading a team to deliver engineering works within budget.

The role requires coordinating with vendors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, and delivering quality engineering documents and drawings for timely completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing secondary engineering for substations.
• Strong knowledge of protection and automation in substations.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and lead a team.
• Familiarity with national and international codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Timely delivery of engineering drawings & documents.
• Ensure deliveries are aligned to project schedule.
• Provide and obtain spatial requirements for design leads.
• Review primary drawings and sizing calculations and obtain client approvals.
• Prepare Design Philosophy of protection, control, signalling & automation.
• Review Vendor deliverables pertaining to Secondary Engineering.
• Define protection/control/automation philosophies for lead roles.
• Coordinate with Operations and other disciplines for design checks.
• Support Site Execution team with clarifications.
