Job summary

National Consulting Office for Engineering seeks a senior lead for the electrical design team to drive technical quality and timely delivery. You will mentor engineers, review outputs, and coordinate with mechanical and civil disciplines to ensure compliant designs aligned with project requirements.

You will develop electrical systems, create schematics and wiring diagrams, select components, and design power distribution with safety and regulatory compliance in mind.

Qualifications

• 15 years in electrical design.
• Engineering consultancy experience.
• Mentoring and developing engineers and drafters.
• Leading technical reviews for all electrical designs.
• Planning and coordinating departmental tasks.
• Experience of 400kV, 132kV, 220kV substations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design team providing technical direction and mentorship.
• Oversee all technical design work within the electrical discipline.
• Plan, allocate and monitor departmental workload.
• Review and approve electrical design deliverables for compliance.
• Develop and design electrical systems for various applications.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams and layouts using CAD tools.
• Specify components and ensure compatibility with system requirements.
• Design power distribution, load calculations and safety considerations.
• Develop control system designs including PLCs and HMIs.
• Integrate control systems with overall electrical designs.
• Conduct tests and simulations to verify performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, project managers and clients.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Produce comprehensive documentation and maintain records.
