Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in the UAE seeks a Design Lead Primary who can review and execute primary engineering activities for AIS GIS Substation Projects across multiple domains. You will supervise BIM 3D model development for substations and coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Structural, and MEP teams.

The role requires leading a team of design engineers and drafters, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and supporting site teams during commissioning and warranty periods.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering is required.
• 10-12 years in design aspects of primary engineering in substations / power distribution.
• Experience in BIM 3D modelling for substations.
• Ability to lead a team of design engineers and draughtsmen.
• Coordination with multiple disciplines for inter-departmental checks.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering documents and assign work to local adaptation consultants.
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams for approvals and drawings.
• Ensure on-time delivery aligned to project schedule and budgets.

Job description

As Design Lead Primary the person shall be capable of reviewing amp executing Primary Engineering Activities for AIS GIS Substation Projects covering multiple geographical domains He must have good knowledge in Layout Engineering in Substation Projects He shall facilitate the modellers in development of BIM 3D Model for Substations In addition she he must coordinate with other departments including Inter-departmental checks covering Electrical Civil Structural MEP and others The Design Lead Primary shall be required to provide support for the engineering activities covering the full cycle of works from pre-bid engineering to support during commissioning and warranty periods and to extend support to site team She He shall lead a team of Design Engineers and Draughtspersons to manage the Engineering activities within budget deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering

Key Responsibilities

Review of Engineering document prepared at Remote Engineering office India amp assigning the same to Local Adaptation consultant for Language Translation amp compliance to local Standard Co-ordinating with Uzbekistan based contractor for construction work and supporting them for solving construction issue Co-odating with ACWA and NEGU team for getting drawing approval for construction activities Timely Delivery of Engineering Drawings amp Documents Ensure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule Seek and obtain spatial requirements and details of cut-outs and openings from the Design Lead Secondary and incorporate into relevant Drawings Review primary drawings by Design Engineers amp Draughtspersons amp checking of design amp sizing calculations of primary engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from the client Review of Vendor deliverables pertaining to Primary Engineering Capable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on time Coordinate with multiple disciplines for ensuring inter-departmental checks Provide support amp clarifications to the Site Execution team Check pre-award evaluation of vendors w r t technical specifications requirement of the client and forward the validation document to Supply Chain Management Inspect equipment from the finalized vendor after submission of validation document of the vendor Clarify issues w r t the design amp requirements of the client to the Site Execution Team Collect inputs for project details plot details feeder arrangements etc from client amp Project Engineering Manager Coordinating with Operations team and informing Design specifications for obtaining approval Collect inputs for project details General Arrangement Drawings from Vendors Check deliverables prepared by Engineering office and suitability for construction such as Equipment layouts Cable Routing Layout Cable Tray Layout Earthing Layout lighting Layout Lightning Protection Layout Provide support to secondary team for reviewing Vendor drawings Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking amp reviewing of design amp drawings of the project
