Job summary

Dautom invites an experienced Senior Database Admin Engineer to join a long-term government project in the UAE. You will manage mission-critical database systems with emphasis on high availability, security, and performance.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB, and strong scripting (PowerShell, Python). You will design schemas, implement upgrades, backups, DR, and work with development teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant database administration experience.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to join within 30 days is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain database systems for high availability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.
• Design and optimize database structures, schemas, and data models with development and infra teams.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues including performance bottlenecks, connectivity, data corruption, and system failures.
• Implement database security controls, access management, encryption, auditing, and monitoring.
• Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
• Develop scripts and automation for DB administration and maintenance.
• Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data integrity processes.
• Coordinate with vendors and provide technical guidance to junior DBAs.
