Job summary

Dautom invites an experienced Senior Database Admin Engineer to join a long-term government project in the UAE. You will manage mission-critical database systems with emphasis on high availability, security, and performance.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB, and strong scripting (PowerShell, Python). You will design schemas, implement upgrades, backups, DR, and work with development teams.

Qualifications

6+ years of relevant database administration experience.
Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to join within 30 days is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain database systems for high availability, reliability, security, and performance.
Perform installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.
Design and optimize database structures, schemas, and data models with development and infra teams.
Troubleshoot complex database issues including performance bottlenecks, connectivity, data corruption, and system failures.
Implement database security controls, access management, encryption, auditing, and monitoring.
Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
Develop scripts and automation for DB administration and maintenance.
Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data integrity processes.
Coordinate with vendors and provide technical guidance to junior DBAs.
