Job summary

Mtec Electromechanical Works LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior cost estimator to develop accurate estimates for complex projects from concept through detailed design. You will lead cost planning, supplier bidding, and change order assessments to protect profitability.

The role requires 8–10 years of experience, PMP/CCP/RICS advantageous, and strong skills in Primavera P6, CostX, Excel, and ERP systems. You will mentor a team and ensure compliance with contracts and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.
• PMP, CCP, or RICS certifications are advantageous.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in cost estimation and control in construction/engineering.
• Proven track record of managing cost control for large-scale projects (infrastructure, industrial, oil & gas).
• Proficient in Primavera P6, CostX, Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strategic thinker capable of foreseeing cost overruns and implementing proactive measures.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates from conceptual design through detailed engineering.
• Implement robust cost control systems to monitor project expenditures against budget.
• Manage the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers with competitive bidding.
• Oversee change order proposals and assess their cost impact.
• Establish and maintain a database of historical cost data for benchmarking.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments related to cost and schedule with mitigation strategies.
• Prepare regular cost reports for senior management highlighting KPIs, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to align estimates with budgets.
• Lead and mentor a team of estimators and cost engineers.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and contractual requirements throughout estimation and cost control lifecycle.
