MEP Estimation Manager

Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced MEP Estimation Manager to lead the complete estimation and tendering process for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems on large-scale construction projects in the UAE. You will drive accuracy in cost estimates, evaluate subcontractor quotes, and coordinate with Design, Procurement, Planning and Project teams to deliver competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of experience in MEP estimation, preferably with major UAE/GCC contractors.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial/senior estimation position.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical and ELV systems.
• Experience handling large-value tenders and multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the MEP Estimation team and allocate tendering responsibilities.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and scope of works.
• Prepare and review detailed estimates for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, ELV and other MEP systems.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and verify BOQ quantities against drawings.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare material, labour, equipment and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Analyse project specifications and identify exclusions, inclusions, discrepancies and commercial risks.
• Prepare competitive and accurate tender submissions within deadlines.
• Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Planning, Commercial and Project teams.
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare rate analysis, cost comparisons and value-engineering proposals.
• Review market rates and maintain an updated database of MEP material and labour costs.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings and negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Prepare tender summaries and present final estimates to senior management for approval.
• Support contract negotiations and assist the project team during post-tender clarification.

Job Purpose

The MEP Estimation Manager will be responsible for managing the complete estimation and tendering process for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works. The role requires strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and experience in preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders for large-scale construction projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

10–15 years of experience in MEP estimation, preferably with major UAE/GCC construction contractors.

Minimum 5 years in a managerial/senior estimation position preferred.

Strong experience in building construction, high-rise, residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use projects.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical and ELV systems.

Experience handling large-value tenders and multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong knowledge of UAE/GCC market rates and MEP suppliers/subcontractors.

Software Skills

MEP Estimation Manager with 22+ years of experience, preferably UAE/GCC construction experience, strong building-project background, and proven experience managing complete MEP tendering and estimation activities for large-scale projects.
