Job summary

Wood is seeking a Lead Materials and Corrosion Engineer based in the UAE to orchestrate corrosion and materials engineering consultancy for internal Wood units and external clients in the energy sector.

The role requires technical leadership on projects, mentoring of junior engineers, and strong client engagement to ensure safe, efficient, and value-adding solutions. UAE experience and knowledge of RBI/FFS are highly valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering with specialization in corrosion, materials, or related field.
Master's degree is advantageous.
Chartered Engineer or equivalent desirable.
AMPP/NACE CP certification desirable.
Experience with API/ISO standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Lead execution and delivery of corrosion and materials projects.
Develop corrosion management strategies and material selection reports.
Provide specialist expertise in coatings, welding, metallurgy, and cathodic protection.
Review reports, calculations and recommendations for quality control.
Act as Lead Engineer on small to mid-size projects within budget and schedule.
Mentor junior engineers and support business development efforts.
Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to proposals.
