Job summary

Aldar Education HQ in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Accountant Payable to manage corporate accounts payable activities for HQ entities, ensuring accurate invoice processing, PO matching, supplier account maintenance, and timely payments.

The role focuses on VAT validation, reconciliations, month-end close, and compliance with procurement policies, with exposure to ERP systems and multi-entity operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification or progress towards a relevant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and credit notes for HQ entities with accurate coding and supporting documentation.
• Perform PO, goods receipt, and invoice matching; follow up on quantity, price, tax, coding or approval exceptions.
• Ensure invoices and non-PO payment requests comply with procurement requirements, contracts, policies, and authority limits.
• Validate VAT treatment and tax invoice information; escalate complex matters to Tax team.
• Prepare supplier reconciliations; investigate differences and resolve outstanding items.
• Review AP ageing, unmatched invoices, blocked transactions, and payment holds; coordinate resolutions.
• Prepare payment proposals and schedules; validate due dates and payment terms; coordinate with Treasury.
• Post and reconcile supplier payments, credit notes, advances, retention balances, and other AP transactions in ERP.
• Prepare month-end AP accruals and closing reports per the closing calendar.
• Support prepaid expense, intercompany, employee reimbursement, and other payable-related activities.
• Respond to supplier and internal queries professionally and maintain records of actions.
• Prepare supporting documents for statutory audits and internal reviews.
• Maintain AP files in line with retention and audit requirements.
• Support ERP improvement initiatives in P2P and e-invoicing.
