Job summary

EDGE Group in Abu Dhabi leads advanced propulsion research and defence technologies. This role conducts CFD simulations of solid-propellant rocket motors, nozzles, and thrust-vector control systems, develops post-test analysis codes, and drives design optimization using CFD results.

The position requires 12+ years in propulsion CFD, plus Master’s/PhD and expertise in ANSYS Fluent, CFX, OpenFOAM, and data analysis tools.

Qualifications

Minimum 12 years in Solid Rocket Propulsion engineering performing CFD analyses and predictive models.
Master’s or PhD in Propulsion or related field with focus on fluid dynamics.
Expertise in CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, CFX, OpenFOAM, or similar).
Knowledge in solid rocket propulsion technology involving design, manufacturing, testing, and analysis.
Strong understanding of turbulence models, combustion modeling, and multiphase flows.
Experience in rocket propulsion or high-speed reactive flows.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, or similar).

Responsibilities

Perform CFD simulations of solid propellant rocket motors, grains, blastpipes, nozzles and thrust vector control systems.
Predict flow distribution, combustion efficiency, heat transfer, flow ballistics and forces.
Develop codes for post-test analysis, thrust vector systems, and nozzle designs.
Provide design optimization input based on CFD results.
Validate numerical results against experimental test data.
Write reports, mathematical models, and test reports.
