Job summary

Dubizzle Group in Dubai is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I - Backend to advance our Python/Django stack for high-traffic, multi-country web products.

You will own API design, performance tuning, testing, and end-to-end SDLC, mentor peers, review code, and drive reliable services across distributed systems in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Collaborate with QA, design and other back-end teams to shape technical vision.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of back-end software engineering in Python/Django.
• Experience with cloud-hosted infrastructure and AWS preferred.
• Kubernetes & Docker familiarity encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Gather an up-to-date understanding of the codebase and stack.
• Lead planning sessions and release roll-out/roll-back strategies.
• Design and deliver multiple REST-based APIs with SOA exposure.
• Write and maintain high-quality tests and code.
• Mentor peers in a peer-programming environment and review PRs.
• Ensure reliability and scalability for high-traffic products.
• Collaborate with QA, design, and other back-end teams.
