Job summary

Confidential in Dubai is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to develop scalable backend services and AI agent orchestration for an enterprise AI platform. You will build secure, production-ready systems and collaborate with AI, Data Science, and Frontend teams to meet enterprise security and performance standards.

The role requires 5+ years in backend engineering, Python (FastAPI/Django), Go or Java, and hands-on Docker/Kubernetes experience, plus vector databases and SAP integration familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years backend engineering experience, distributed systems or production AI platforms.
• Proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Django); Go or Java; Docker; Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, gRPC, and API gateways (Kong/NGINX).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and vector databases (Weaviate/Milvus).
• Knowledge of AI agent frameworks, RAG, and enterprise integrations.
• Familiarity with SAP integration protocols (OData/SOAP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agent orchestration systems, workflow logic, and scalable microservices.
• Build secure API integrations with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, and enterprise data platforms.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) services using vector databases and retrieval technologies.
• Integrate external data sources through secure and efficient API connectors.
• Implement authentication, role-based access control, audit logging, and data protection mechanisms.
• Optimize backend services for secure on-premise and air-gapped deployments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability through tracing and optimization.
• Collaborate with AI, Data Science, and Frontend teams to deliver enterprise software solutions.
