Job summary

Al Gurg Real Estate in Dubai seeks a Senior Accountant to lead the AP team, oversee end-to-end invoice processing, and ensure accurate ledger reconciliation. The role requires coordinating month-end close and ensuring regulatory compliance with IFRS and UAE VAT.

You will liaise with treasury, tax, and audit teams to support audits and MIS reporting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in a similar role within a large organization, with strong SAP/Oracle and Excel skills and proven leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Certification CMA/CA/CPA or progression towards certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of similar experience in a large organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage train/mentor and evaluate a team of AP specialists or clerks, including workload distribution and performance reviews.
• Oversee end-to-end AP lifecycle from invoice receipt to payment execution.
• Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger and vendor statements to internal records.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with IFRS and UAE VAT and tax regulations.
• Act as escalation point for vendor inquiries and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements within the AP workflow and implement best practices.
• Prepare various financial reports and metrics for management such as ageing reports, cash flow projections, cost analyses, and cost reporting.
• Ensure month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and schedules for audits.
