Job summary

Al Marwan Group in the UAE seeks an experienced Chief Accountant for the Real Estate Division. You will oversee end-to-end accounting, including GL, leases, budgeting, and financial reporting across multiple properties and entities.

The role requires hands-on UAE real estate accounting expertise, strong IFRS knowledge, and a proven ability to lead accounting teams while ensuring robust internal controls and timely audit responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience in UAE real estate developers.
• Expertise in real estate accounting, property leasing, rental income recognition, and tenant reconciliations.
• End-to-end accounting, GL management, and month/year-end closing.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with multiple properties and intercompany reporting.
• Ability to supervise accounting teams and manage finance operations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
• Professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/CMA) advantageous.
• Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, journals and reconciliations.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and financial reporting.
• Prepare P&L, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow statements and property-level reports.
• Manage real estate and property leasing accounting, rental income and tenant ledgers.
• Ensure accurate lease accounting, operating expenses, CAPEX, acquisitions and disposals.
• Monitor intercompany transactions, bank reconciliations and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and address audit observations.
• Supervise junior accountants and strengthen internal controls.
