Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations financial reporting reconciliations tax compliance and month-end year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UAE accounting practices VAT Corporate Tax financial reporting and audit requirements with the ability to work independently and provide accurate financial information to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting Financial Reporting Manage the complete accounting cycle including General Ledger Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and fixed assets Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements Perform month-end and year-end closing activities including accruals provisions prepayments depreciation and journal entries Prepare and maintain trial balances balance sheet schedules P L statements and cash flow reports Ensure all accounting transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported by documentation.
- Reconciliations Controls Perform monthly bank supplier customer intercompany and General Ledger reconciliations Investigate and resolve discrepancies outstanding balances and aged items Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting schedules Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
- UAE VAT Corporate Tax Prepare and review UAE VAT calculations and VAT returns and ensure timely compliance with Federal Tax Authority requirements Maintain VAT reconciliations and supporting documentation Support UAE Corporate Tax calculations compliance and filing requirements Monitor changes in UAE tax regulations and assess their impact on the business Liaise with tax consultants and the FTA when required.
- Audit Compliance Coordinate with external and internal auditors Prepare audit schedules reconciliations supporting documents and financial information Respond to audit queries and ensure timely resolution of audit findings Maintain proper statutory and financial records.
- Management Reporting Prepare monthly management reports and financial analysis Provide budget-versus-actual and variance analysis Monitor expenses profitability working capital and cash flow Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Team Process Management Supervise and review the work of junior accountants Provide guidance and training to accounting team members Ensure accounting deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met Support ERP implementation automation and process-improvement initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is highly preferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting.Proven expertise in US GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to apply these principles to complex transactions.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
