Job summary

RSL Freight Co. LLC in Dubai is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee finance for freight forwarding, including ERP implementation and warehousing operations. You will coordinate with Sales and Operations and report to the Finance Manager.

The ideal candidate has extensive UAE tax compliance experience, strong English communication, and a proven ability to drive efficiencies in accounting processes within a freight forwarding context.

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA/CA or equivalent qualification; a degree is a plus
• 7-8 years as a senior accountant; 4-5 years in freight forwarding
• Audit experience for 2 years is advantageous
• Proficient in MS Word, online meetings, and high computer literacy
• Advanced Excel; Power BI and Power Query are advantageous
• ERP experience; Efreight shipping ERP preferred
• ERP implementation capability and digital freight forwarding focus preferred
• Excellent English communication (written and verbal)
• Strong coordination with local and international clients
• Team player with confidentiality and strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily fund position and cash flow for management
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations: AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations
• Close monthly accounts and handle accounting treatments and entries
• Handle banking tasks, online banking, WPS, and record keeping
• Ensure timely invoice billing, verify job closings and incidental expenses
• Follow up with receivables with the sales team; aging analysis
• Address financial and operational issues in freight forwarding
• Coordinate with UAE VAT, Excise tax filings, and FTA compliance
• Coordinate annual audits and AML compliance; timely statutory audits
• Coordinate inventory and shipment records with operations
• Ensure BOE, customs transactions, stock transfers, and excise movements
• Ensure SOPs, monitor non-compliance, and suggest improvements
• Coach junior accounting team and delegate tasks

A leading Freight Forwarding company in Dubai require a dynamic candidate to assume role of Senior Accountant. The role involves managing the finance of freight forwarding through E-Freight ERP system and warehousing operation. The candidate should possess practical experience of freight forwarding operation and add value with best practices. The candidate will be required coordinate with the Sales and operation in executing the job roles and report to the Finance Manager.

What Are the Role’s/ Main Responsibilities?

• Prepare the daily fund position and cash flow for the management.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Sound knowledge in the job closing, monthly closing , accounting treatment and transitional entries.
• Perfume day to day banking and process online banking, WPS handling with exchange and record keeping.
• Ensure the timely bilking of invoice, verify the job closing and the booking of incidental expenses.
• Follow up with receivable with the sales team, prepare sales target calculation and ageing analysis report.
• Actioning the solution for critical, exception and problem in the freight forwarding to resolve the financial and operational issues.
• Must have hands-on experience with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) compliance, including VAT return preparation and filing, Excise Tax filing, and adherence to UAE tax regulations.
• Coordinate with the annual audits, AML compliance and complete the stature audits on time.
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure accurate inventory and shipment records.
• Ensure proper accounting and documentation for Bills of Entry (BOE), customs-related transactions, stock transfers, and excise movements.
• Ensure SOP are followed, monitor any non-compliance and suggest improvement.
• Ensure Junior accounting team is delegated task, monitored and supported.

Skills

Professional Qualifications and Competencies

• ACCA/CIMA/CA full or part qualification, a degree will be added advantage
• 7-8 year of experience as senior account and minimum of 4-5 years in the freight forwarding industry
• Experience in Audit for of 2 years will be added advantage
• Working knowledge in the MS word, online meeting and high computer literacy
• Knowledge of advance excel is compulsory. Power bi and power query will be added advantage
• Working Knowledge in ERP: Experience inEfreight shipping ERP will be added advantage
• Ability to implement the ERP and work toward a digital freight forwarding will have high preference
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Communication and interpersonal skill to coordinate with local and international clients
