Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced accountant with expertise in import/export accounting, shipping line operations, and ERP-based financial management. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of international trade finance, shipping documentation, customs-related accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance within a GCC business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete accounting activities for import and export transactions.
- Record and reconcile freight charges, customs duties, port expenses, demurrage, detention, warehousing, and transportation costs.
- Maintain General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and verify landed cost calculations and shipment cost allocations.
- Process customer invoicing and supplier payments related to import/export operations.
- Reconcile shipping line, freight forwarder, customs broker, overseas supplier, and customer accounts.
- Monitor and account for letters of credit, bank guarantees, bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other trade documents.
- Ensure compliance with GCC VAT regulations, customs procedures, and company financial policies.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure accurate accounting of inventory and shipment costs.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete financial records.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting experience in import/export, shipping line, freight forwarding, logistics, or international trading companies.
- Minimum 2-3 years of GCC/Middle East work experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP-based accounting systems (minimum Tally Prime ERP).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with one or more ERP systems: Tally Prime ERP, or any other integrated ERP and financial management system.
