Job summary

ABC Cargo UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to independently manage its accounting operations and financial reporting functions in the UAE. The role requires strong UAE accounting experience and the ability to oversee records, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting with accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of UAE accounting experience, an M.Com or higher, knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations, and proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Perform bank, branch, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts receivable/payable and collections reporting.
• Prepare cash flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Support UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
• Coordinate audits and maintain internal controls and ERP records.

ABC Cargo UAE is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to independently manage its accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This role is ideal for finance professionals with strong UAE accounting experience who can oversee financial records, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting while ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing financial reports, supporting tax compliance, and coordinating audit requirements. Experience within the cargo, courier, logistics, or transportation sector will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting, month-end closing, and financial reporting activities.
• Perform bank, branch, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections reporting.
• Prepare cash flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Support UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
• Coordinate audit requirements and maintain accurate financial documentation.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure ERP accounting records remain accurate and up to date.

Requirements

• M.Com or a higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE accounting experience, including experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar senior-level role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent reconciliation, analytical, and financial reporting skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
• Experience in cargo, courier, logistics, or transportation will be an advantage.
• CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA qualification will be an added advantage.
