About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Accountant with minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including at least 6 years in the UAE, to take full ownership of the operations and reporting of our finance and accounting department. You will report to the Managing Partners and lead an on-site team of two accountants.
The role suits an autonomous, detail-oriented finance professional who can turn raw operational and yard data into accurate management insight, enforce strict internal controls, and keep every part of the dealership audit-ready.
Accounting and Compliance
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready books that support management decision-making while meeting statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT, UAE Corporate Tax and other applicable UAE regulations.
- Lead the operational rollout and adoption of UAE e-invoicing.
- Act as the primary internal contact for VAT and Corporate Tax filings, tax audits and financial audits, working with external consultants, auditors and corporate bankers.
Vehicle Inventory and Costing
- Oversee vehicle inventory across all holding structures.
- Run monthly vehicle-level landed cost allocation and costing to calculate gross margin per unit.
- Digitize the physical vehicle summary file to reduce paper dependency while keeping export documentation audit-ready.
Operational Control and Treasury
- Lead and mentor two accountants: work allocation, supervision and quality review of daily general ledger entries, customer invoices, vendor bills and recurring expenses (AP, AR and cash flow).
- Prepare and maintain management reporting and ad hoc reports.
- Review and reconcile all ledger accounts.
- Monitor export workflows: verify customs exit paperwork, track export documentation, and maintain security deposit records (cash and cheques held and released against proof of export).
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash registers, post-dated cheques, and fuel and utility accounts (ENOC, ADNOC, Etisalat).
- Audit petty cash records in Excel before approving postings to QuickBooks, ensuring full reconciliation.
- Hold custody of bank access credentials, supplier banking records, corporate digital assets, showroom insurance policies and other assets.
Financial Reporting and Payroll
- Own the month-end close. Prepare, review and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, highlighting margins and operational variances.
- Complete the year-end close, including capital account closures.
- Process payroll through the UAE Wage Protection System (WPS) with correct allocation across branches.

- Background in used car dealerships, vehicle trading or fleet management will be advantageous.
