Job summary

Help AG is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant in Dubai to oversee day-to-day accounting, drive accurate financial reporting, and ensure compliance with internal controls and UAE regulations. The role supports month-end and year-end closes, prepares financial statements, and provides insights for decision-making.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in accounting and professional CPA/CMA/CiMA certification, with Big 4 exposure and strong VAT knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA/CMA/CiMA professional qualification.
• Big 4 audit experience, senior associate level.

Responsibilities

• Close month-end activities, including posting journal entries and project revenue calculations.
• Prepare Financial Pack: monthly/quarterly P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, forecasts.
• Ensure reconciliations for Balance Sheet items.
• Resolve client queries by coordinating with other departments.
• Design controls for financial statement preparation.
• Prepare schedules for department managers.
• Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project status and seek efficiency improvements.
• Assist in annual budget and rolling forecast.
• Coordinate with IT on ERP issues.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Job description

Help AG is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role plays a critical part in supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, and providing insights for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the month-end closing activities, including posting of journal entries, calculation of revenue for each project, cost allocation, review of contracts, etc.
• Prepare Financial Pack as per the current practices – this includes monthly/quarterly P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, Project P&L, Forecast, Segment P&L.
• Ensure supporting schedules/reconciliations are available for Balance Sheet items.
• Resolve queries from clients by investigating the issue and coordinating with other departments.
• Design and ensure that proper controls are in place for the preparation of financial statements.
• Prepare financial schedules that may be required by department managers.
• Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor the status of projects under the entity to be managed.
• Come up with initiatives to improve efficiency of the existing processes.
• Assist in preparation of annual budget/monthly rolling forecast.
• Coordinate with IT support in resolving issues that may arise in ERP.
• Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Professional Qualification CPA/CMA/CiMA.
• Audit experience with Big 4 preferred – Senior Associate Level.
• Thorough knowledge of rules and application of VAT in UAE/KSA.
• Knowledge of practical application of controls in preparation of FS.
• Knowledge of Microsoft NAV, highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Project/Segment and Group Accounting.
• Knowledge of preparing Statutory Financial Statements up to Consolidation.
• TMT Sector experience will be an advantage.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Advance Microsoft Excel skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Being able to understand complex business processes and activities.
• Flexible and structured work approach based on the job requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate well with others and reconcile differences among resources/departments.
• Ability to speak and write in English is required; Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred.
• Able to manage high volume workload and tight deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
