Nova Marine Carriers SA, a Swiss-based company with a global maritime and logistics footprint, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for its Dubai office. The role focuses on general accounting, month-end close, and voyage-related financials in a multinational setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, strong English, and solid IMOS knowledge, with familiarity in the maritime industry. This is a full-time, on-site position offering growth and competitive compensation.

Formación

• Proven experience in managing general accounting activities through to the preparation of financial statements.
• At least 5 years of experience in a general accounting role.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of IMOS is essential for this role.
• Knowledge of the maritime industry is a required

Responsabilidades

• Scope: Management of accounting and controlling activities related to large vessels operating on long-haul, deep-sea voyages.
• Month-End and Closing Activities: Overhead costs, accruals, GL reconciliations, and depreciation adjustments.
• Voyage P&L: Review and monitor voyage profit and loss accounts.
• Closing: Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Other duties related to maintaining accurate financial records for the fleet.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Team in Dubai Office

The ideal candidate has a solid background in general accounting, preferably within a multinational environment in the maritime industry, and is motivated to actively contribute to the company's continued growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing general accounting activities through to the preparation of financial statements.
• At least 5 years of experience in a general accounting role.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of IMOS is essential for this role.
• Knowledge of the maritime industry is a required

Key Responsibilities

Scope:

Management of accounting and controlling activities related to large vessels operating on long‑haul, deep‑sea voyages.

Month-End and Closing Activities

• Management of overheads and financial expenses, including guarantee fees, interest on bank loans, management fees, broker commissions and other related costs.
• Preparation of period‑end accruals and related adjustments and reversals.
• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Monthly posting of accrued and deferred expenses and revenues, on a provisional and/or final basis.
• Calculation of foreign exchange differences.
• Review and monitoring of voyage profit and loss accounts (voyage P&L).
• Monthly review of closing balances and reasonableness checks, including insurance, revenues, operating expenses (OPEX) and other relevant items.
• Monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities, including the closing of accounting periods and financial years.
