Qualifications

• Master's degree in accounting or finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Oversee project-based accounting in collaboration with project managers.
• Support Finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.

The role:

WKC are hiring a Senior Accountant to be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial decision making. The role will play a key part in month-end close, financial analysis, and process improvement, while also providing guidance to senior management and administrative staff who are involved in accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations;
• Oversee project based accounting in collaboration with operational project managers, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, and project profitability status;
• Oversee office based accounting in the Middle East in collaboration with office managers, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, and office profitability status;
• Support the Finance team and Partners with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management;
• Ensure compliance to accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies;
• Prepare data required for audits and collaborate with the Finance officer in addressing external auditors, tax advisors and regulators;
• Review and improve financial controls, processes and reporting systems;
• Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to senior leadership and project managers;
• Manage and perform month-end and year-end close processes

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience;
• Minimum of 1-2 year experience in a supervisory/senior role;
• Bachelor degree in accounting;
• Accounting Certification e.g. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant.
• Advanced software proficiency in MS Excel.
• UAE and KSA based regulatory knowledge;
• Strong command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards;

Candidate Preferences:

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience;
• Masters degree in accounting or finance;
• Experience with ERP Systems (e.g. Sage, Quickbooks, Odoo)
