Job summary

NADIA Recruitment & Management Consultants is seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to support finance and accounting operations in Abu Dhabi. The candidate should understand accounting principles, postings, reconciliations, and UAE VAT compliance.

The role involves maintaining ledgers, handling payables/receivables, processing invoices, performing reconciliations, and assisting with monthly statements and audits. UAE experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACCA, CMA or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Experience in educational institutions or service-oriented organizations is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT, and financial procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting entries.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Process supplier invoices, payments, receipts, and expense claims.
• Perform bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
• Support budgeting, expense monitoring, and financial reporting activities.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, and other records.
• Assist with VAT calculations, return preparation, and UAE VAT compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, students, and other stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documents and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with institutional financial policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
