Job summary

Blue Ocean Corporation in Dubai seeks a Senior Accountant with 4–6 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a senior role. Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts, payments, and journal entries
• Prepare and maintain accurate invoices, vouchers, receipts, and other financial documents
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and ledger reconciliations
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and ensure timely follow-up
• Assist with monthly closing, financial reports, and management reporting
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all accounting transactions
• Assist in the preparation and submission of UAE VAT returns and ensure compliance with applicable VAT requirements
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, banks, and internal departments regarding finance-related matters
• Assist with payroll-related accounting activities, as required
• Support internal and external audits by providing the required financial records and documentation
• Monitor expenses and ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported by relevant documents
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and applicable UAE regulations
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role
• Native Arabic speaker with strong English communication skills
• Strong hands-on experience on UAE accounting practices, VAT, and financial reporting
• Proven experience handling full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end closing
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT compliance and VAT return preparation
• Experience in preparing financial statements, management reports, account schedules, and reconciliations
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software
• Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle, or similar accounting/ERP systems
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial procedures
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CA, or equivalent will be an advantage
• Candidates available to join on short notice will be preferred
