Job summary

LEAMS Education in Dubai invites applications for a SENDCO to lead the school's provision for students with special educational needs, developing IEPs, coordinating assessments, and liaising with teachers, parents and external specialists.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Master’s preferred), a SENDCO qualification, and a PGCE or equivalent; UAE experience is preferred. This full‑time role supports an inclusive education philosophy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership is preferred.
  • SENDCO qualification or certification and PGCE or equivalent are required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead identification and assessment of SEND needs in the school.
  • Coordinate assessments with external professionals (psychologists, therapists).
  • Develop, review and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor progress and adapt learning strategies for SEND students.
  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers and staff for inclusive education.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and maintain parent communication.
  • Ensure SEND compliance with UAE laws and school policies.
  • Lead staff development on SEND provision and inclusive practices.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
Master’s degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership (preferred)
SENDCO qualification or certification
Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
