Job summary

LEAMS Education in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is hiring a SENDCO - Inclusive Education Leader to oversee the school's provision for students with special educational needs. You will work with teachers, families, external specialists, and leaders to identify needs, coordinate interventions, and raise academic and social outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of teaching experience in inclusive settings, a SENDCO qualification, and a teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related discipline with teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
• A recognised SENDCO qualification or certification is required.
• 3–5 years of teaching experience with a focus on supporting students with special educational needs.
• Experience in UAE or international inclusive education settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead early identification of students with SEN through observation and data.
• Coordinate evaluations with psychologists and therapists.
• Develop and update Individualized Education Plans with staff, parents, and specialists.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions and support plans.
• Ensure staff implement each student's IEP effectively.
• Coach teaching assistants and provide professional development on inclusive practices.
• Develop and implement SEND policies in line with UAE requirements.
• Communicate with families and senior leaders about outcomes and priorities.
• Manage SEND budget and resources.
