Job Overview
The SENCO Teacher will lead and support inclusive education practices across secondary levels, ensuring all students receive appropriate learning support. This role enhances student achievement by implementing differentiated strategies, coordinating support systems, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inclusive and inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB curriculum frameworks.
- Identify and support students with additional learning needs across secondary levels.
- Develop individualized education plans and monitor student progress effectively.
- Apply differentiated teaching strategies for diverse learners, including EAL and gifted students.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt curriculum and classroom practices.
- Use assessment data to inform interventions and improve learning outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with parents to support student development and wellbeing.
- Integrate technology to enhance accessibility and engagement in learning.
- Contribute to school initiatives, events, and co-curricular programmes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with school policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with SEN specialization or relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE.
- Minimum 3 years experience teaching SEN at secondary level.
- Experience within IB curriculum is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and student support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a multicultural school environment.
