Job summary

GEMS International School – Dubai Hills in Dubai Hills is seeking outstanding Secondary Science Teachers to join from August 2027. The role welcomes IB educators as well as teachers from British and other international curricula who are passionate about inquiry-led learning and inspiring curious learners.

Hold a degree-level qualification with a science specialism and at least three years’ experience in secondary science instruction, including IB exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree-level teaching qualification with science specialization.
• Minimum of three years’ experience teaching Secondary Science; IB MYP/DP preferred; A-Level acceptable.
• Strong subject knowledge and commitment to inquiry-based, concept-driven learning.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and classroom management skills.

Skills

Successful Candidate

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification at degree level, such as a B.Ed, PGCE, State Teaching License or equivalent, with a specialism in Science.
• Have a minimum of three years' successful experience teaching Secondary Science, ideally including IB MYP and/or DP. Where candidates do not have IB experience, A-Level experience is preferred.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality, inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
• Be passionate about inspiring a love of Science and developing confident, critical and globally minded learners.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration and classroom management skills.
• Bring the vision, energy and commitment to contribute to an innovative, collaborative and diverse international school community.
