Role Context
The Science Coordinator Teacher will combine classroom teaching with subject coordination across the primary phase. The position will help maintain consistent curriculum coverage, improve instructional practice, support teacher development, and ensure science lessons build curiosity, scientific reasoning, practical understanding, and measurable student progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons for primary-grade students.
- Coordinate the implementation and review of the CBSE primary science curriculum.
- Prepare and evaluate curriculum maps, schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment schedules.
- Support teachers in developing age‑appropriate and interactive science lessons.
- Conduct lesson observations and provide practical developmental feedback.
- Guide teachers in using inquiry‑based learning, demonstrations, experiments, and real‑world examples.
- Monitor curriculum coverage and ensure consistent teaching standards across primary classes.
- Analyze student attainment and progress data to identify learning gaps.
- Develop targeted support and intervention plans for students requiring additional assistance.
- Coordinate formative and summative assessments, moderation, and review of student work.
- Help teachers apply differentiated strategies for varied learning abilities.
- Promote scientific vocabulary, observation, investigation, reasoning, and problem‑solving.
- Ensure practical activities follow appropriate safety procedures.
- Lead subject meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and curriculum review activities.
- Support teachers through coaching, team teaching, model lessons, and professional development.
- Organize science projects, exhibitions, competitions, and enrichment activities.
- Maintain accurate curriculum, assessment, observation, and departmental records.
- Contribute to school improvement planning and internal academic reviews.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and school leadership.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or a related scientific discipline.
- Bachelor of Education qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 years of UAE experience in a similar science teaching or coordination role.
- Experience in a CBSE curriculum school at primary‑grade level is preferred.
- Strong understanding of primary science curriculum standards and assessment practices.
- Previous subject coordination, mentoring, or instructional leadership experience is advantageous.
- Ability to conduct lesson observations and provide effective professional feedback.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, assessment, moderation, and student progress monitoring.
- Confidence in delivering practical and inquiry‑based science lessons.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, academic improvement, and student wellbeing.
- Must be available to join by August 2026.
- Applicants without the required UAE experience will not be considered.
