Job summary

Southern Sun in Abu Dhabi is looking for a driven individual to sell event space, rooms, and F&B outlets. You will focus on building strong relationships with clients and deliver strategies targeting MICE segments.

The ideal candidate should have 3 to 4 years of experience in a luxury hotel and possess strong sales and communication skills. Proficiency in PMS systems and a valid driver's license are essential.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to drive revenue by selling our event space, rooms and F&B Outlets.
• grow our G&C, incentive, corporate groups and exhibition room nights.
• Build and maintain strong co-operative and professional relationships with unit management and clients.
• Deliver and drive strategies for MICE segments.
• Participate in department budgeting and forecasting.
• Work with government bodies and local authorities.
• Sets sales targets for the hotel and plan towards achieving the goal.
• Have contacts in the local market / international market.
• Conduct sight visits and inspections by hosting current as well as future clients.
• Understand, create, and prepare proposals and quotes.
• Planning and staging client functions, site inspections; follow‑up post function on client satisfaction.
• Promptly follow up on outstanding quotes, requests for proposals, sales enquiries, pending billing and closing PM’s.
• Familiar with Micros / FMC / Opera and other hotel operating systems.
• Analyse client and market information and compile conclusive reports with recommendations for ongoing or new business.
• Contribute to weekly / monthly departmental meetings by liasing with internal stakeholders.
• Attend networking events and functions / make external sales calls.
• Social media savvy with the ability to monitor, comment and follow up as required.
• Collaborate with Executive Chef / F&B Director in creating menus and pricing.
• Work as part of a team or individually to deliver high quality standards.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification relating to Sales & Marketing/Events or Hotel Management.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
