Job summary

Accor is seeking a Sales Manager - Meetings and Events in Dubai to convert corporate inquiries into profitable hotel business. You will work under senior sales leadership, managing key accounts and coordinating events from planning through execution.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of meetings and events or hotel sales experience, excellent English communication, and the ability to negotiate contracts while protecting revenue objectives. UAE experience with an international brand is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Implement sales activities within the assigned market segment in line with hotel commercial priorities.
  • Generate new meetings, events, conference and corporate business through proactive sales development.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts, business partners and Accor commercial contacts.
  • Conduct face-to-face sales calls, telephone prospecting and written communication to develop corporate business.
  • Build a reliable network of decision-makers and encourage prospective clients to experience the hotel’s facilities and services.
  • Manage incoming event and meeting enquiries from initial contact through proposal development and confirmation.
  • Prepare accurate commercial proposals based on client requirements, available spaces and hotel services.
  • Negotiate rates, event packages and contractual terms while protecting revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Coordinate confirmed events from planning stages through operational handover and execution.
  • Work closely with banquet, food and beverage, rooms and other hotel teams to ensure client expectations are understood.
  • Lead or participate in event planning meetings involving clients and relevant hotel departments.
  • Maintain comprehensive account coverage across the assigned customer portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities to increase business from existing accounts through meetings, rooms, conferences and dining services.
  • Monitor account production, client activity and sales opportunities to maximize productivity.
  • Work toward monthly and annual sales targets established through hotel forecasts.
  • Maintain a high level of hotel visibility through direct client engagement and professional communication.
  • Promote rooms, small meeting facilities, conference services and food and beverage offerings to suitable market segments.
  • Maintain accurate client information, account activity and sales pipeline records in relevant hotel systems.
  • Use hotel PMS, sales and catering platforms to manage enquiries, bookings and commercial information.
  • Support event operations by resolving issues quickly and coordinating corrective action when required.
  • Maintain professional confidentiality concerning clients, accounts and hotel commercial information.
  • Represent the hotel with a consistently professional appearance, attitude and communication style.
  • Follow company policies, hotel procedures and established commercial standards.
  • Remain flexible to support evening, weekend and public holiday events when business requirements demand it.

Role Context

The Sales Manager - Meetings and Events is responsible for turning corporate and event enquiries into profitable hotel business while maintaining strong relationships with key accounts and commercial partners. Working under the Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing and Assistant Director of Sales, the role combines proactive business development with detailed event coordination and account management. The position has direct influence on revenue performance across guestrooms, small meetings, conferences, banquets and food and beverage operations. Success requires strong market awareness, disciplined follow-up and close cooperation with operational teams so that commitments made during the sales process are delivered effectively during each event.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a bachelor 's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline. The role requires 2-4 years of experience in meetings and events, hotel sales, banquet operations or event management within the hospitality sector. Previous UAE experience with an international hotel brand is preferred. Strong knowledge of event planning, conference management, banquet operations and guest service standards is important. Candidates should be comfortable managing enquiries, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts and coordinating events from planning through execution. Commercial awareness is essential, particularly the ability to identify new revenue opportunities, develop accounts and work toward measurable sales targets. Experience with hotel property management, sales and catering technology such as Opera Cloud, Anis, Cvent, Passk or similar systems is highly relevant. Fluency in English is essential. Additional language capability would be advantageous when managing Dubai 's diverse corporate and international client base.
