Global Retail Recruitment is seeking a Sales Director in Dubai to lead international retail accounts across EU, USA, Asia and MENA. The role requires a commercially driven leader who has personally sold physical products or supply programmes into retail head offices.

You will own target revenue, margins, and forecasts, manage key relationships, and collaborate with sourcing, product and operations to ensure delivery.

Sales Director

I am handling a confidential search for a Sales Director to win and grow business with major retailers internationally.

I am looking for a commercially driven leader who has personally sold physical products or supply programmes into retail head offices. You will combine direct new-business development with responsibility for customer relationships, revenue growth and account profitability with an entrepreneurial dynamic.

The role

• Identify target retailers, identify the income stream, establish relationships with the relevant decision-makers and convert opportunities into profitable accounts.
• Lead pitches, tenders, pricing discussions and negotiations through to commercial agreement and delivery.
• Develop existing customers through clear account plans, stronger relationships and additional business opportunities.
• Take ownership of agreed sales and gross-margin objectives, maintain a credible pipeline and provide reliable forecasts.
• Work with sourcing, product and operational colleagues to ensure customer requirements and commercial commitments can be delivered.
• Help shape the sales approach and support the development of the commercial team as the business grows.

The experience I am looking for

• Direct supplier-side sales experience with retail customers in both the USA and EU, including relationships with buying, procurement or other relevant head-office functions.
• Clear examples of new retail accounts personally won, contracts negotiated and recurring business developed.
• Experience selling physical products or supply programmes, with sound understanding of pricing, margin and delivery requirements.
• A practical approach to prospecting, negotiation and account development, alongside the ability to lead commercial activity.
• Willingness to be based in Dubai and travel internationally. Candidates may currently be based anywhere.

Relevant backgrounds may include Head of Sales, Head of Commercial, Regional Sales Director, Sales Director, Commercial Director or a comparable senior business-development or key-account role.

Direct experience selling into retail is essential; retail store operations alone will not meet the brief.
