Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Safety Officer to join our project team. You will liaise with the Safety Manager and contractors to implement and improve corporate HSE management ethics and ensure compliance across site activities.

The ideal candidate has a degree or diploma in engineering or related field, 8+ years in health and safety on infrastructure projects, and UAE certifications such as NEBOSH or OSHAD. Interviews are expected in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent in an engineering field and formal HSE education.
• Minimum 8 years of Health & Safety experience on infrastructure projects.
• Recognized HSE certifications (NEBOSH, OSHAD) and UAE licensing/ training.

Responsibilities

• Implement Parsons HSE Policy, Plan, and legislation; monitor performance and targets.
• Liaise with Safety Manager and Contractors to improve and implement HSE ethics.
• Monitor contractors for safety measures and best practices.
• Review Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessments and monitor effectiveness of control measures.
• Review Contractors' monthly HSE inspections/reports.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and publish minutes for follow-up.
• Review Emergency Preparedness, Permit to Work, toolbox talks and HSE statistics.
• Review incident/accident investigations and communicate learning points.

Safety Officer

Parsons is looking for a talentedSafety Officerto join our team! In this role you will get toliaise with Safety Manager and Contractors for the improvement & implementation of Corporate HSE Management ethics.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Implement Parsons HSE Policy, HSE Plan, and HSE legislation and other requirements, monitor HSE performance, and HSE targets, and suggest measures for further improvement.

• Liaise with Safety Manager and Contractors for the improvement & implementation of Corporate HSE Management ethics.

• Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation of applicable Safety measures and best practices.

• Review Hazard Analysis / Risk Assessment Plan for all key activities and Monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures, job safety plans, and work method statements at the site and carry out HSE visit and report to Resident Engineer for immediate rectification.

• Review and Monitor Contractors' monthly HSE inspections/reports.

• Conducting monthly Safety meetings, setting the target to achieve the outstanding issues, prepare / submit the minutes to all concerned for follow-up.

• Review Emergency Preparedness and response, Permit to work system, Toolbox Talks, HSE meetings, HSE statistics & records of the contractors according to Company requirements.

• Review Incident/Accident investigation reports from contractors, report & communicating the learning points, and monitor the immediate action and follow-up actions to minimize/prevent re-occurrence.

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• A Degree or Diploma preferably in Engineering or any relevant discipline from a recognized University.

• At least 8+ years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety within infrastructure related projects.

• With recognized Health and Safety education, certifications (ADVETI), license or training in UAE (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHAD - Qudorat/ADOSH SF, First Aid, Fire Safety, ISO 45001, etc)

• Able to attend physical interviews in Abu Dhabi.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• At least 2 years of recent experience in construction supervision of infrastructure work.

• Preferably with relevant experience working in an engineering consulting firm.

• Preferably with experience the in UAE and with a driving license is an advantage.
