Role Context

The Safety Officer will work alongside construction, project, contractor, and HSE teams to strengthen daily safety performance. Through regular site engagement, the role will help identify hazards early, guide workers toward approved practices, and support a workplace culture focused on preventing incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe site activities and verify that teams follow approved safe working practices.
• Monitor compliance with government regulations, applicable OSHAD requirements, and company HSE policies.
• Support project personnel with HSE advice and practical guidance during construction activities.
• Conduct routine site inspections and safety walk-downs with relevant team members.
• Participate in HSE meetings, awareness campaigns, and improvement initiatives.
• Deliver health and safety inductions to workers, visitors, and other site personnel.
• Assist with toolbox talks and targeted awareness sessions addressing current site risks.
• Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behavior through established project procedures.
• Support investigations into incidents and near misses and help document the findings.
• Coordinate corrective actions with contractors and the wider HSE team.
• Follow up on agreed actions to confirm that identified risks have been addressed.
• Recommend practical controls that can improve site safety without disrupting project delivery.
• Recognize positive HSE behavior and encourage continued compliance.
• Contribute to the project 's Zero Accidents objective through consistent site engagement.

Ideal Profile
