Position Overview Parsons is hiring a Safety Officer in Abu Dhabi, UAE to support Health, Safety, and Environment activities across infrastructure projects. The role will coordinate with the Safety Manager, Resident Engineer, and contractors to implement HSE requirements, monitor site safety performance, review risk controls, and follow up corrective actions. The position requires practical infrastructure safety experience and recognized Health and Safety education, certification, licensing, or training applicable in the UAE.

Responsibilities include contractor HSE monitoring, hazard and risk assessment reviews, site inspections, safety meetings, emergency preparedness, permit-to-work controls, and incident investigation follow-up.

What You 'LL Be Doing

• Implement Parsons HSE Policy, the project HSE Plan, applicable HSE legislation, and other relevant requirements.
• Monitor HSE performance and established safety targets and recommend measures for further improvement.
• Coordinate with the Safety Manager and contractors to support effective implementation of corporate HSE management requirements.
• Monitor contractor activities to verify implementation of applicable safety measures and good working practices.
• Review hazard analyses and risk assessment plans for key project activities.
• Assess the effectiveness of hazard control measures, job safety plans, and work method statements.
• Conduct HSE site visits and report identified issues to the Resident Engineer for timely rectification.
• Review contractors ' monthly HSE inspections and reports.
• Monitor outstanding HSE issues and follow up required corrective actions.

Safety Meetings and Site Compliance

• Conduct monthly safety meetings and establish follow-up targets for outstanding matters.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes to relevant parties for action and close-out.
• Review emergency preparedness and response arrangements.
• Monitor permit-to-work systems and associated safety controls.
• Review Toolbox Talks, HSE meetings, safety statistics, and contractor HSE records.
• Maintain effective communication with contractors and project supervision personnel on site safety matters.

Incident Review and Corrective Action

The Safety Officer will review contractor incident and accident investigation reports, communicate relevant lessons learned, and monitor immediate and follow-up actions intended to minimize or prevent recurrence. The role will also support continuous improvement by identifying recurring safety concerns and communicating observations requiring corrective action to the appropriate project personnel.

What Required Skills You 'LL Bring

• Degree or Diploma, preferably in Engineering or another relevant discipline, from a recognized university.
• At least 5 years of related Health and Safety experience within infrastructure projects.
• Recognized Health and Safety education, certification, licence, or training applicable in the UAE.
• Relevant qualifications or training may include ADVETI, NEBOSH, OSHAD-Qudorat, ADOSH SF, First Aid, Fire Safety, or similar credentials.
• Practical understanding of hazard analysis and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of hazard control measures, job safety plans, and work method statements.
• Familiarity with emergency preparedness, permit-to-work systems, Toolbox Talks, HSE inspections, and incident investigations.
• Ability to attend an in-person interview in the UAE.

What Desired Skills You 'LL Bring

• At least 2 years of recent experience in construction supervision of infrastructure works.
• Relevant experience with an engineering consulting firm is preferred.
• UAE experience is preferred.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage.
