Job summary

Parsons is hiring a Safety Manager - Infrastructure HSE in Sharjah, UAE to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across infrastructure project activities on-site. This role demands comprehensive UAE infrastructure safety experience and leadership in HSE policy execution.

You will monitor safety performance, ensure contractor compliance, conduct site inspections, emergencies, and incident investigations, and align with client, corporate, and Sharjah regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related engineering or Occupational Safety & Health.
• Minimum 12 years of UAE infrastructure safety experience.
• Recognized health and safety certifications applicable in the UAE (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO).
• Strong knowledge of HSE management and contractor safety monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Implement corporate HSE policies, project HSE plans, applicable legislation, and other safety requirements.
• Monitor HSE performance and targets and recommend measures for continued improvement.
• Verify compliance with client safety requirements.
• Coordinate with safety personnel and contractors to strengthen implementation of corporate HSE management requirements.
• Monitor contractor activities to confirm that applicable site safety measures satisfy legal and client requirements.
• Review contractor Site Safety Plans, Emergency Plans, and other safety-related documentation.
• Review Method Statements and risk analyses for project activities.
• Monitor the effectiveness of hazard identification and control measures.
• Conduct HSE site inspections and report findings to the Resident Engineer for prompt corrective action.
• Review and monitor contractors' monthly HSE inspections and reports.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and establish actions for resolving outstanding safety matters.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and follow up on agreed actions.
• Review emergency preparedness and response arrangements.
• Monitor Permit to Work systems, Toolbox Talks, HSE statistics, and contractor safety records.
• Review contractor incident and accident investigation reports.
• Communicate lessons learned from incidents and monitor immediate and follow-up corrective actions.
• Support measures designed to prevent recurrence of incidents and improve overall site safety performance.

• Relevant qualifications may include ISO, NEBOSH, First Aid, and Fire Safety training or certifications.
