Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks an experienced Resident Engineer (Infrastructure) to lead day-to-day construction supervision for major infrastructure works in a marine environment.

You will supervise a team, review submissions, coordinate with design engineers, and ensure safety and progress on site. Fluency in English and strong technical writing are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction supervision of large infrastructure/marine projects.
• Strong understanding of contractual relationships and construction supervision processes.
• Proactive, solutions-driven approach with strong problem-solving capability.
• Strong computer literacy for reporting, record keeping, and project systems.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day construction supervision for major infrastructure works in a complex marine environment.
• Direct and manage supervision activities for site engineers, inspectors, and surveyors.
• Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and technical proposals.
• Coordinate with design engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure correct site implementation.
• Maintain daily diary records and review daily reports; monitor progress and productivity.
• Advise on contractual and construction matters including diversions and interface management.
• Provide on-site direction and issue site instructions to ensure compliant execution and progress.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports for drainage and utilities works.

Resident Engineer (Infrastructure)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer (Infrastructure) to join our team! In this role you will lead day-to-day construction supervision for major infrastructure works in a complex marine environment, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings/specifications and HSE standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead site supervision for infrastructure works including storm drainage, sewage, and associated wet and dry utilities.
• Direct and manage supervision activities for key assets such as pipes, manholes, chambers, gullies, and associated structures.
• Supervise and coordinate the site supervision team (site engineers, inspectors, surveyors) to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with other discipline Resident Engineers to maintain alignment across the project.
• Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and technical proposals related to drainage/utilities works.
• Coordinate with design engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure correct implementation on site.
• Maintain daily diary records and review daily reports from team members; monitor progress and productivity.
• Coordinate with contractors on scheduling and resource deployment; identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Advise on contractual and construction matters including utility diversions/installations, traffic diversions, and interface management.
• Ensure safety goals are achieved and that safe work procedures are implemented across all site activities.
• Provide on-site direction and issue site directions/instructions as required to ensure compliant execution and progress.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports for drainage and utilities works.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
