Api Energy FZC seeks a versatile Application, Project Design & Estimation Engineer (Refrigeration) to manage the full lifecycle of refrigeration projects—from lead generation and design to handover. You’ll build technical submittals, engineer cooling solutions, and prepare BOQs for the site team.

Responsibilities include lead generation, system design, and accurate cost estimations, sourcing quotes, and compiling project material lists. UAE/GCC experience is preferred for this role.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–8+ years for design and estimation of commercial/industrial refrigeration systems in UAE/GCC preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and estimation software such as Accubid/CostX.
• Strong knowledge of refrigerants (HFCs, CO2/Ammonia) and cold-store panel construction.
• Excellent written English and ability to draft professional proposals.

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Application, Project Design & Estimation Engineer (Refrigeration) who can manage the entire lifecycle of a refrigeration project—from lead generation and design to project handover. In this role, you will act as a technical and commercial bridge. You will identify and secure new business opportunities, engineer optimal cooling solutions, build complete technical submittals, and prepare the final Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and material lists for the site execution team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Business Development

• Actively identify, approach, and develop new business leads within the cold chain, food processing, logistics, and supermarket sectors.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with MEP contractors, consultants, and end-users to secure RFQs and tenders.

Engineering & System Design

• Conduct thermal load calculations for cold rooms, blast freezers, chillers, and specialized industrial refrigeration systems.

• Create and develop precise Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), schematic drawings, and system layouts.

• Size and select refrigeration machinery (compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls) using OEM software.

Estimation & Proposals

• Prepare accurate, transparent cost estimations, pricing sheets, and commercial proposals.

• Source competitive quotes from international and local suppliers for equipment, panels, and valves.

Submittals & Project Material Handover

• Compile detailed Technical Submittals (data sheets, compliance statements, drawings) for consultant approval.

• Generate the final Project Material List (MTO), including piping, fittings, insulation, and accessories, ensuring the site team has a flawless blueprint for execution.

Qualifications

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

• Experience: 3 to 8+ years of proven experience specifically in the design and estimation of commercial/industrial refrigeration systems (experience in the UAE/GCC market is highly preferred).

• Technical Software Skills:

  • Expert proficiency in refrigeration selection programs (e.g., Danfoss Coolselector, Copeland Select, Bitzer Software).

  • Strong skills in AutoCAD and advanced Microsoft Excel for estimation modeling.

  • Proficiency in HVACR design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and estimation software (e.g., Accubid, CostX).

• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of various refrigerants (HFCs, Natural Refrigerants like CO2/Ammonia), cold store panel construction, and electrical control panels for refrigeration.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, high attention to numeric detail, and excellent written English communication skills for drafting professional proposals.
