Job summary

JAZAL ENGINEERING & CONTRACTING LLC in Dubai seeks an experienced HVAC Engineer to design layouts, perform sizing and load calculations, and coordinate multi-disciplinary MEP tasks on active projects.

You will review consultant drawings, prepare BOQs, and support techno-commercial discussions, ensuring alignment with client specifications and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor degree as specified (BS/BTech/BE in Mechanical Engineering).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design, estimation, and project handling.
• UAE/Dubai driving license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC layouts, piping layouts, ventilation systems, and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate plumbing, drainage, water supply, firefighting with other disciplines.
• Carry out basic mechanical calculations including cooling load, equipment sizing, pipe/duct sizing.
• Review drawings for clashes and technical requirements; coordinate with drafting teams.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, and assist in technical/commercial offers.
• Participate in techno-commercial meetings and site coordination on projects.

Design & Engineering

• Develop HVAC layouts, chilled water/refrigerant piping layouts, ventilation systems, and equipment layouts.




• Coordinate plumbing, drainage, water supply, firefighting, and other mechanical services with architectural, structural, and electrical requirements.




• Carry out basic mechanical calculations including cooling load(HAP), equipment sizing, pipe sizing, duct sizing, and ventilation requirements.




• Review consultant drawings and identify design discrepancies, clashes, and technical requirements.




• Coordinate with Drafting teams for preparation and updating of drawings.

Estimation & Tendering

• Review project specifications, tender drawings, BOQ, and scope of work.




• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.




• Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations.




• Prepare material and equipment comparison sheets.




• Assist in preparing technical and commercial offers.




• Evaluate project costs, manpower requirements, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.




• Identify exclusions, qualifications, assumptions, and potential variations before submission.




• Participate in techno-commercial meetings and negotiations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Project Execution

• Coordinate with Site engineers for day-to-day activity at different sites




• Ensure works are executed as per approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.




• Coordinate with civil, architectural, electrical, and other MEP teams to avoid site conflicts.




• Monitor installation of HVAC equipment, ducting, piping, plumbing, drainage, ventilation, and related mechanical systems.




• Coordinate material procurement and ensure materials are available as per the approved project schedule.




• Monitor subcontractors and site manpower productivity.




• Prepare and review material submittals, RFIs, WIRs, MIRs, method statements, and other project documentation.




• Attend site meetings and coordinate with consultants, clients, main contractors, and suppliers.




• Monitor project progress and report technical or commercial issues to management.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.




• Qualification holding of Bachelor degree of BS/BTech/BE (Mechanical Engineering)




• Strong knowledge of HVAC design, estimation, and project handling.




• UAE/Dubai driving license is mandatory.
