Jotun MEIA FZ-LLC in Dubai is seeking an accomplished R&D Chemist to develop and maintain coatings, binders and raw materials, delivering data-driven development and technical transfer across the organization.

You will plan experiments, validate performance through weathering and corrosion tests, report results clearly, and uphold safety standards while contributing to the R&D strategy and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with minimum 4 years experience or Master with minimum 2 years’ experience.
• Knowledge on fire protection coatings is preferred; strong coatings formulation knowledge in protective coatings, including binder systems and curing chemistries.
• Experience with performance validation (e.g., weathering, corrosion, and accelerated testing) and strong knowledge of internationally accepted test methods and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and projects independently and deliver with strong structure and follow-up.
• Must be proficient in verbal and written English.

• Plan and carry out projects and tasks, including formulation, testing, evaluation of results, and raw materials, with guidance from the Manager or senior colleagues.

• Continuously develop knowledge through reading, practical experience, learning from colleagues, and attending relevant training.
• Follow all HSEQ procedures, safety requirements, and documentation to maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep the workplace clean, organized, safe, and pleasant.
