Jotun MEIA FZ-LLC is seeking an experienced R&D Chemist to develop and maintain coatings, binders, and raw materials. You will support R&D strategy, conduct data-driven development, and transfer knowledge across the organization.

The role requires strong formulation knowledge, experience with performance validation, and proficiency in English. You will contribute to safety and quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across MEIA region.

Qualificações

• Bachelor with minimum 4 years experience OR Master with minimum 2 years’ experience.
• Knowledge on fire protection coatings is preferred.
• Strong coatings formulation knowledge in protective coatings, including binder systems and curing chemistries.
• Experience with performance validation and knowledge of test methods and standards.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

As an R&D Chemist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining products by preparing, testing, and evaluating coatings, binders, and raw materials. You will also play an active role in supporting the R&D strategy and strengthening technical competence across the organization through robust, data-driven development work and knowledge transfer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Take responsibility for assigned products, projects, tasks, or activities and ensure they meet required quality standards, procedures, and regulations. Plan and carry out projects and tasks, including formulation, testing, evaluation of results, and raw materials, with guidance from the Manager or senior colleagues. Clearly report and communicate work results, both verbally and in writing, to support decision-making. Continuously develop knowledge through reading, practical experience, learning from colleagues, and attending relevant training. Follow all HSEQ procedures, safety requirements, and documentation to maintain a safe working environment. Keep the workplace clean, organized, safe, and pleasant.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

What we look for Bachelor with minimum 4 years experience OR Master with minimum 2 years’ experience. Knowledge on fire protection coatings is preferred Strong coatings formulation knowledge in protective coatings, including binder systems and curing chemistries. Experience with performance validation (e.g., weathering, corrosion, and accelerated testing) and strong knowledge of internationally accepted test methods and standards. Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and projects independently and deliver with strong structure and follow-up. Must be proficient in verbal and written English.
