Job summary

Jotun MEIA FZ-LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking an R&D Chemist to develop and maintain coatings, binders, and raw materials, driving data‑driven development and knowledge transfer. You will design experiments, evaluate results, and report findings to support decision making, while adhering to HSEQ guidelines and contributing to our innovative coatings strategy across the MEIA region.

The role offers continuous learning, cross‑functional collaboration, and opportunities to influence product performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor with minimum 4 years experience or Master with minimum 2 years’ experience.
• Knowledge on fire protection coatings and binder systems.
• Experience with performance validation (weathering, corrosion, accelerated testing) and test methods.
• Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and projects independently.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Formulate, test, and evaluate coatings, binders, and raw materials.
• Plan and carry out projects with guidance from the Manager or seniors.
• Clearly report and communicate work results to support decision-making.
• Continuously develop knowledge through learning and training.
• Follow HSEQ procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep the workplace clean, organized, and safe.
