About Us

Located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and following the successful launch of The Africa Institute in 2018, Global Studies University was established in 2023 as a non-profit institution for higher education by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

About The Position

This position reports to the Director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE). OIE’s primary goal is to coordinate, facilitate, and advance assessment practices and processes across campus to support evidence‑based decision making and planning. The Quality Assurance Manager will assist in all aspects of quality assurance and enhancement activities: monitoring institutional strategic goals, aiding acquisition of international accreditation and global ranking, advancing continuous assessment of operational functions, gathering and preserving institutional data, and engaging with others to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate should have a background and proven long‑term experience and an understanding of requirements and processes needed for an institution to remain in good standing in all accreditation and licensure matters in the United Arab Emirates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with academic programs to manage periodic review of academic quality and standards
  • Monitor dissemination of timely institutional information to administrators, the university community, the external community, and regulatory agencies
  • Lead preparation of university publications such as Fact Book and annual performance reports at university and programmatic levels
  • Prepare reports to support accreditation processes as needed
  • Participate in and support the university’s strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, and outcomes assessment processes
  • Support the university’s risk management processes as assigned
  • Coordinate the processes for GSU’s ranking cyclical submissions to ranking agencies
  • Supervise how OIE monitors institutional data integrity and recommends opportunities to improve data and research quality
  • Monitor compliance with all institutional and program level KPIs, ensuring accurate and timely KPI data collection
  • Ensure the QA Manual is regularly updated and effectively implemented at GSU
  • Provide technical support and training to academic departments for KPI data reporting readiness
  • Ensure all data required for continuous review cycles is collected, analyzed, validated, and used to improve performance and meet quality standards
  • Work with academic programs to ensure required periodic program review/self‑study are completed on schedule
  • Monitor corrective actions to follow necessary procedures in academic and non‑academic units to effect improvement plans
  • Support all accreditation processes and maintain a register of corrective actions for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies on accreditation requirements as assigned
  • Collaborate with academic and support departments to keep accreditation documentation current and available for validation
  • Monitor and coordinate maintenance and preservation of all course records
  • Perform other related duties or assignments as needed

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, and competency in interacting with people at all levels
  • Effective teamwork in a multicultural environment, handling pressure positively, and meeting deadlines in a demanding work environment
  • Ability to keep up to date on relevant policies and procedures aligned with job duties
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Academic Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field

  • Experience in assessment processes and regulatory compliance in higher education in the UAE
